1..2..3.. dreamcast!

get bath

Inside sources at Sega Europe have revealed exclusively to jumpyspider their new title Get Bath. The latest game in the successful Get... series. Previous titles include the seminal Get Bass and erm... Get Bass.
For those of who who haven't played it, the aim of Get Bass is to catch fish and not, as you might expect, to collect low pitched noises (which are an abstract concept and therefore can't be collected... i'm the cleverest man alive).

Get Bath will feature a choice of 16 characters from around the world and a variety of baths to compete in.
The game will feature four modes of play including

  • Challenge (compete a series of levels, finishing with a super-clean boss),
  • Head-to-head (not that sort of head...bathe one on one against another human or computer player),
  • Time Attack (try to complete a level in the fastest possible time),
  • Network Play (play against other human bathers online).

sega plan to beef up
the dreamcast's profile with
cunning tie-ins, including
toys for girls
As well as this there will be several difficulty settings where the player will have to run the bath and check the temperature while getting undressed to acheive a good time.
Sega also hinted that there will be a shower mode hidden somewhere in the game and several VMS "pocket bath" games which will be accessed by completing the challenge game with different characters.

The 16 characters in the game were modelled from actors using a sophisticated imaging technique. This basically involves blindfolding the artists and letting them touch up the models, which may go some way to explaining why the game is months behind schedule.

To make things even more exciting the game will come with an adapter allowing you to connect your Dreamcast to your bath or shower. Sega claim the device is compatible with 80% of baths and have provide a handy little plastic bag to stop your dreamcast getting wet. ahh, isn't that sweet of them...

Get Bath is due for release in the autumn but expect that to slip if the artists work out how to get those blindfolds off.

Anticipation factor: A super slippery 8 out of 10
