neighbours-mue

Yet again we've got you a world exclusive. We are just too good! Anyway, we have recieved pictures of a new game being developed in-house by Sega. The AM-Annex team have split in two, creating a new team known as AM-Backdoor, who are working day and night to get this game completed.
Neighbours is going to be using the Shen-Mue engine and leaves you free to explore a large area of Erinsborough including Ramsey Street and the Lassiters complex. There will also be sections set in the bush.
Our source claims that Sega are creating this game to try and appeal to a western audience. They feel that people in American might think Shen Mue is just a game about raw fish, small cars and suicide bombers (which it is).

Screenshots we have seen indicate that the game features at least 36 characters, 18 currently in the show and 18 past characters. Although all the past characters shown are female so we guess there are a similar number of male characters.
Only 6 characters are available initially (Amy, Drew, Harold, Madge, Paul and Phil) (it is possible Sega will release the game in chapters as they are doing with Shen Mue) and the player must select one of these to play as. The object of the game is essentially to guide the character through a series of puzzles and problems in the course of the game (equivalent to around 20 episodes). All of the plots are linked, but each character has their own unique perspective. This means that playing as one character may provide clues which will help solve puzzles with another character. How the past characters link into the game isn't yet clear, but we believe there will be a completely seperate set of episodes written specifically for the game tying them together.

Anticipation factor: Thow another tinny on the barby! 8 out of 10, mate
